Adrienne DeMeuleneire Obituary

Adrienne DeMeuleneire (nee Van Den Bossche) was born October 16th 1927 on her family farm near Bruxelles, Manitoba. She passed away on June 1st 2025 at the Baldur Personal Care Home at the age of 97.

Adrienne leaves to mourn her husband of 69 years Marcel, son Brian (Jackie Morin) DeMeuleneire and daughter Shelley (Brad) Williams.

Grandchildren Courtney (Glen) Charette, Lindsey (Shane) Riglin, Justin (Nadia) DeMeuleneire, Jayme Williams, Brittney (Tyler) Sorenson, Carter and Skyler Morin.

Great Grandchildren Pierce, Autumn & Leo Charette, Chase & Brooks Riglin, Amelia DeMeuleneire and Everley Sorenson, as well as her sister and brother in-law Evelyn & Keith Green and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents Maurice and Helen (nee De Vlieger), her in-laws Cyril & Rachel DeMeuleneire, Great Granddaughter Scarlett Charette, her siblings Rachel (Camiel) DeSmet, Jules Van Den Bossche, Alexander Van Den Bossche, Raymond (Agnes) Van Den Bossche, Lorette (Louie) Devos, nephews Dennis Van Den Bossche and Jim DeSmet and sister and brother in-law Antoinette & Gerry Martens.

Adrienne was the second of six children born to Maurice and Helen. She received her schooling at Ste. Marie School until grade eight, and then stayed home to help tend to the family farm.

She married Marcel on June 16th 1956. They welcomed Brian the following summer and Shelley spring of 1962. They farmed by Bruxelles until 1964 when they purchased their farm east of Baldur.

Adrienne enjoyed gardening and preserving vegetables, planting flowers and swapping perennials with friends. She sowed, loved baking bread and making braided mats and pot holders for her family.

Her and Marcel liked taking day trips to the states and the train or bus to British Columbia to visit family. They went to the Black Hills with Shelley and friends and also enjoyed bus trips to Shooting Star Casino in Minnesota. Her and good friend Mary hopped the bus to Branson and Nashville in the late 90's and had a wonderful adventure together.

Adrienne loved her family and was always so happy when we stopped in for a visit and get togethers around the holidays. Her first few questions always were "are you hungry?" and "should we have a drink?"

A Private Family Graveside Service will be held on Monday, June 9, 2025 at the Baldur Cemetery with Sharon Hamilton officiating.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Baldur Endowment Fund (cheques payable to the R.M. of Argyle), Box 40, Baldur, MB or the Baldur Personal Care Home, Box 128, Baldur, MB, R0K 0B0.

We would like to sincerely thank the entire staff at the Baldur Health Centre for their outstanding care and compassion for the last two years. We would also like to thank Jamieson's Funeral Service for their professional care and guidance, Sharon Hamilton for officiating and the Baldur Trading for catering lunch.
