Betty Jean (Burns) Bullied

Passed away at the Carberry Personal Care Home on Sunday January 1, 2023 at the age of 95 years, Elizabeth Jean “Betty” Bullied (nee Burns), of Carberry, MB, formerly of Holland,  MB.

Betty was born October 17, 1927 in Spanish, ON and spent most of the school years in Owen Sound ON.

In 1956 she met and married Raymond Bullied while he was in the RCAF, stationed at Clinton, ON. They were then stationed at Comox, BC for 3 years and lived in Courtenay until 1960 when he left the Air Force and returned to Manitoba to farm 3/4 mile from his home farm near Holland, MB.

Besides working alongside Raymond on the farm, Betty served as secretary on many community committees, with several years as secretary treasurer of the Agricultural Society. She also belonged to the Ideal Rebekah Lodge for many years until it disbanded. She was treasurer of the Holland Bingo Club until moving to Carberry in 2005 to be close to family. She resided in seniors housing in Carberry until moving to the Carberry Personal Care Home where she resided until her death Jan 1, 2023.

Betty is survived by two sons, Bruce (Jane) of Winnipeg, MB and Brian (Carla) of Carberry, MB, granddaughter Brianne and step grandsons Shay and Dallas.

She was predeceased by her husband Raymond (1995), father Casimir Burns (1960), mother Edith nee Irving (1984), brother Vivian (1975), sisters Marjorie (1979) and Patricia (2004).

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday January 14, 2023 at 2:00 pm at the Brookdale Cemetery, Holland, MB, with Sandra Rex officiating.
