Passed away suddenly at his residence on Thursday May 6, 2021 at the age of 78 years, Harold Clare Dwayne Hamilton, of Glenboro, MB.

Dwayne leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife Lorna (nee McGill), son Kent & wife Sandra of Glenboro, MB, sister Janice Stephens of Hamilton, Bermuda, sisters-in-law Eleanor Hamilton of Glenboro, MB & Glen Hamilton of Stouffville, ON, brothers & sisters-in-law Doug Jobbins of Victoria, BC, Kevin & Linda McGill of Killarney, MB, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents Jim & Lizzie Hamilton, his siblings, brothers Mervyn, Jack & Rae Hamilton, sisters Joyce (Bob) Johnson, Isabel (Bruce) Fairgireve & Betty Jobbins and by his brothers-in-law Richard Stephens and Gordon McGill.

Dwayne was born on the family farm near Glenboro and made farming his life’s work until his retirement.  He served as councilor in the R.M. of Argyle, was a Manitoba Pool Elevators delegate for 17 years, a member of the executive and Vice President of Keystone agricultural Producers, as a board member of Manitoba Habitat Heritage and served as an agricultural representative on the Committee for Sustainable Development Implementation.

Sports were a big part of Dwayne’s life and he enjoyed baseball and curling as his health allowed.  He briefly took up golf until he decided the frustration wasn’t worth it!  Dwayne always loved animals and was sorry to see the last few cows leave the farm.  Dogs and cats were always part of the household and knew who to stay close to get treats.!

A Family Graveside Service will be held on Thursday May 13, 2021 at the Glenboro Cemetery with Sharon Hamilton officiating.

In lieu of cards & flowers, friends that so desire, memorial donations can be made in Dwayne’s memory to the Glenboro Cat Rescue, c/o R.M. of Glenboro-South Cypress, Box 190, Glenboro, MB, or to the Glenboro & Area Foundation, Youth & Recreation Fund, Box 147, Glenboro, MB R0K 0X0.
