Celebration of Life ~ Evan Lounsbury

In the evening hours of Sunday, June 1st, 2025, surrounded by his family, beloved husband, dad and grandpa, Evan George Lounsbury of Treherne, MB, passed away peacefully at the age of 70.

He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 47 years, Janice, daughter Shawna (Scott), son Drew (Joanna), grandchildren Caleb and Davin, mother-in-law Evelyn, and numerous brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends.

Evan was born on August 20, 1954 in Treherne, to Orville and Megan Lounsbury, one of 11 siblings. Growing up he enjoyed gymnastics and track and field. At the age of 15 he started working at Glenn and Eleanor Matchett's farm, from there he went on to work at many different places in Manitoba. His final working years were spent driving for Earle's Transfer. He was awarded Driver of the Month from Manitoba Trucking Association in January 2008. He remained accident-free until his retirement in 2021.

Evan was generous with his time and eager to help anyone with anything. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren's sports and activities and spending time with them. He eagerly helped with any yardwork, gardening and projects at Drew and Shawna's homes, as well as his mother-in-law's cottage. Evan enjoyed curling, gardening, fishing and loved to talk to people.

In their retirement years, Evan and Janice spent many hours going for "drives" to various casinos in Canada and the US with family and friends. For their 40th anniversary Evan and Janice enjoyed a cruise to Alaska.

His family would like to thank all the doctors and staff at Tiger Hills Health Centre and GH3 at Health Sciences Centre for all the care and compassion Evan and his family received.

A Celebration of Life service will be held in the Treherne United Church on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 3:00 pm with Heather Grobb officiating.  A family interment will take place in the Bethel Cemetery.
