With his daughter at his side, George passed away on Monday, September 2, 2024 at the Glenboro Personal Care Home at the age of 87 years.
George was born to Tom and Elsie (Kelm) Mulligan on May 4, 1937 in the R.M. of McCreary. They lived on the Big Ridge and George attended Beaver Dam School. He was one of 14 children.
In 1965 George married Phyllis and they welcomed 2 children: Brent and Carla. George was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who loved to visit and play with the kids and was their biggest cheerleader, often yelling “work hard!”.
George was predeceased by his parents Tom and Elsie and then by his beloved companion and partner-in-crime, Phyllis, in 2022. He was also predeceased by his mother-in-law Rose and siblings: Louis, Emily, Joyce, Ronald, Roy (sister-in-law Ruth), Mervin, Larry, and infant siblings: Dwayne, James, Jerry, one unnamed child, sister-in-law Joyce, and brother-in-law Hugh.
George leaves to mourn his passing and cherish many fond memories, his children Brent (Randie) and Carla (Eric). Brents children: Jaylee (Tritt); Bradey (Katie, Frank, James); Willie (Mackenzie, Henley); and Carlas’s children: Jenita (Chad, Blake, Bryce); Samantha (Jack); Sheldon (Catherine) who will all miss him dearly. His brothers Melvin and Barry, sisters-in-law Lynda and Gail, and numerous extended family members and friends will also miss him.
A Celebration of George’s life will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 2:00 pm in the Willmor Chapel, Glenboro, MB, with Rev. Doug Craig officiating. Interment will take place in the Glenboro Cemetery.
Following the interment, a reception will be held in the C.E. Building. Everyone is welcome.
