It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father Harvey Albert Hamilton who passed away peacefully at the Glenboro Personal Care Home on Sunday February 7, 2021 at the age of 96 years.

Harvey leaves to mourn his passing his daughters Maxine (John) Goodman of Glenboro, MB, Brenda Hamilton of Winnipeg, MB, granddaughters Kristy & Lara Gaetz of British Columbia, son-in-law Erik Klos of Winnipeg, MB, sister-in-law Annette Hamilton of Prince George, BC, as well as numerous nieces, nephews & friends.  Harvey was predeceased by his wife Isabel (nee McDonald) in 2013, daughter Holly Klos in 2019, an infant son Allan Graham, parents Albert & Jennie Hamilton and by brothers Stewart (Eva), Ross (Marg), Lloyd & Keith.

Dad loved travelling and even towards the end of his life, still had an adventurous spirit that wanted to travel.  He & mom had several trips with friends and family during their 66 years together.

Harvey was always interested in trying different types of work but his heart remained in farming, especially with cattle.  He worked for Manitoba Crop Insurance and loved meeting with farmers and traveling around Manitoba adjusting crops.

Dad had a life long love of cars, and he owned several.  Mom never knew when she went to the garage what car she’d be driving to town in.  On one particular trip they returned home on the bus as dad had sold their car during one of their stops.

Dad was also a good athlete who curled and golfed well into his eighties. A special memory for him was the year he won the Glenboro Bonspiel which at the time was one of the biggest events in town.  Dad was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.  He also was always willing to help others in need.  He had a deep faith and was a devoted member of the United Church.  We are very thankful for the support Sandra Rex gave dad and our family especially in his last days.  We would also like to thank the staff of the Personal Care Home for the care they gave dad while he was in residence particularly in his last days.  Our prayer is that his spirit is now at peace.

A Celebration of Harvey’s life will be held on Monday February 15, 2021 in the Glenboro United Church with Sandra Rex officiating.  Due to the Covid restrictions, only immediate family members are allowed to attend.  A Family Interment took place prior to the service in the Glenboro Cemetery.  Friends that so desire, memorial donations can be made in Harvey’s memory to the Glenboro United Church Memorial Fund, Glenboro MB R0K 0X0 or to a charity of one’s choice.

For those wishing to view the service, the webcast will be available to view on line at 4:00 pm  on our website at www.willmorchapel.com.  Friends may sign the memorial register book by calling 204-827-2480 or email us at jamiesonsfuneral@gmail.com and we will insert your name.
