“Irene was predeceased by her son Keith (2016), parents Frank and Bessie Partridge, sister Illa and brother-in-law Harry Olineck, sister Merle and brother-in-law Wesley Nabozniak, brothers Roy Partridge and Dayle Partridge, and brother-in-law Jim Thomas.”
Mom and Dad moved to Treherne from Saltcoats, Saskatchewan in January 1967. She worked as a waitress for Mike and Eileen Ostafichuk, owners of the Central Hotel for many years, and then later went on to work for M.I.L.E.S as a cook and also worked in the kitchen at the Treherne Hospital. After purchasing the men’s wear store in Treherne, Mom worked alongside Dad in the clothing store.
In her younger years Mom was an active curler and bowler. She later took up bingo and loved to take her grandkids with her. She loved to bake and her freezer was always full of dainties in case of unexpected company. Even though each of us kids thought we were getting away with secretly raiding the freezer, she knew what we were up to.
Following retirement, mom enjoyed going for coffee with “the girls”, Sunday breakfasts at the golf course and community fall suppers.
Mom and Dad moved into the Legion Lodge in November 2019 where she resided until her passing. She made many new friends there and always looked forward to coffee time.
Family was the most important thing to Mom. There was always the grandkids favourite treats on hand when they would visit. Each child and grandchild has at least one of her special afghans, along with many, many dishcloths! Her eyes lit up and her smile was wide when the great grandchildren would visit and loved to see the pictures and videos as they grow up.
A Private Family gathering will be held on Friday November 11, 2022 in the Jamieson’s Holland Chapel.
A Public Graveside Service will be held at Woodlands Cemetery at a later date in 2023.
