Peacefully on Sunday November 25, 2018 at the Grace Hospital, Jack Vernon Lalonde of Winnipeg, formerly of Glenboro MB, passed away at the age of 83 years.

Jack was born August 11, 1935 in Glenboro MB. He grew up on the family farm & attend Patricia School & later Glenboro High School. He enjoyed hunting with friends & family as well as the outdoors.
In his early years, he began working on the oil rigs in Alberta then decided to start a career in lathe & plastering. Later on, he was employed with the University of Winnipeg as a Physical Plant Employee, retiring from that position in Sept. 2000. Jack was always a hard worker & enjoyed helping others when he could.

Jack leaves to mourn his four children Donna-Lee Lalonde (Rick) of Winnipeg, Judy Lalonde of Winnipeg, Marilyn Friesen-Lalonde (Carl) of Nanaimo B.C., Frank Lalonde (Michelle) of Winnipeg, ten grandchildren & three great grandchildren.
He is also survived by his brothers Lyall (Margie) Lalonde of Winnipeg, Tom (Anne) Lalonde of Kamloops B.C., sisters Verna (Bill) Ringrose of Glenboro & Pat Ginter (Ed Grandy) of Regina SK, sister-in-law Patsy Mitchell of Baldur MB as well as numerous extended relatives & friends. Jack was predeceased by his wife Berna (nee Slute) in 2006, parents Otto "Buster" & Florence (nee Girling) Lalonde, and by brother Bruce & sister-in-law Devona Lalonde.

Jack was faced with a lot of health challenges over the years and met every one of them head on without complaint. The family would like to thank the Health Care Workers, especially Nick, Alfredo, Joy, Manuel & Trevor for your kindness & dedication in looking after dad the past few years. We will miss him.

Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will take place at a later date in the Glenboro Cemetery.
Memorial donations can be made Jack's memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
