James Matthew "Matt" Johnston

Passed away at the Souris Health Centre on Monday, April 21, 2025 at the age of 63 years, James Matthew “Matt” Johnston, of Wawanesa, MB.

Matt leaves to mourn his passing his son Dustin (Courtney) Johnston of Wawanesa, MB, daughter Kimberly Johnston also of Wawanesa, MB, grandchildren Corey & Colton, step children Yvonne McKay and Kelly (Stacey) Steinke, step grandchildren Rachel McKay (Daniel), Noah McKay and Katie Steinke.

He is also survived by his brothers Shane (Margaret) Johnston of Morris, MB, D’Arcy (Sharon) Johnston of Winnipeg, MB, sister-in-law Cheryl Johnston of Brandon, MB as well as extended relatives & friends.

Matt was predeceased by his first wife Arlene (nee Roney) and second wife Jean (nee Maxwell), parents Bill & Doreen, brother Mark Johnston and by sister Casey Papegnies.

A Graveside service will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Wawanesa Cemetery with Shirley McBurney officiating.  Following the service, everyone is invited to time of food & fellowship at the Wawanesa Community Hall.
