Jason Keith Bessant, 51 of Parker Colorado, originally Ninette Manitoba passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2025 at the age of 51 surrounded by the people he loved.
Jason was born on April 2, 1974 in Brandon Manitoba to the parents of Darwin and Linda Bessant. When he was 2 they moved to the farm which is the home he knows and loved to this day. Jason attended kindergarten in Margaret and Ninette for elementary. While in elementary school he played hockey. When he was 12 his dad brought home a dirt bike that changed it all. This is when his love for anything with a motor began. Jason loved dirt biking and snowmobiling with his friends and family, where he spent all of his time. Jason’s misadventures leading to crashes and broken-down engines lead to him discovering his love of fixing things….or the fact dad said you break it you fix it! Jason can fix anything.
Throughout high school he played football, helped on the family farm and had many jobs including working for neighboring farms and the local gas station. When Jason finished high school, he moved to Brandon to go to college then off to Winnipeg to look for other opportunities that led him to move to Denver Colorado in 1995.
While in Denver he worked in many different areas mostly following his love of mechanics. Jason became friends with everyone that crossed his path. He spent his time with friends exploring the area biking and sledding in the mountains.
But in 2005 he decided it was time to come back to Manitoba to be with family. He moved back to the farm to help his dad and mom then decided he needed more excitement and moved to Alberta to be with his sister Wendy and his nephews, Conor and Logan.
While in Alberta he spent a lot of time teaching his nephews everything he could. They loved having Uncle Jason around to do things they weren’t supposed to do. He lived in Alberta working for local mechanic shops and in the oil field until he moved to Fort St John for a year to work for another mechanic shop. Fort St. John was not for him so he moved back to Alberta where he reconnected with the love of his life Teri who resided in Parker Colorado. Shortly after he decided it was time to move back to be with Teri and her son Jeff in 2013.
Jason and Teri were married in 2014. In 2016 Jason and Teri welcomed Zachary into the world. Being a dad was something Jason always wanted and he was great at it. Jason was the best dad teaching everything he knew. Zachary is a mini Jason, learning how to fix things, loving dirt biking and snowmobiling.
Jason started working for Big O Tires and is such a hard worker, Big O Tires recognized this and offered him to become part of the business. Jason and Teri became the owners of Big O Tires. Jason was a great boss, always encouraging them to work hard and always helped the underdog. He always went over and above for them, even cooking Christmas dinners.
Jason’s motto is work hard play harder. He never missed an opportunity to go on an adventure with friends and family. He will be deeply missed and always be on our minds.
Jason leaves behind to mourn; his wife Teri, sons Jeff & Zachary, parents Darwin and Linda, sister Wendy, nephews Conor & Logan, so many aunts, uncles & cousins and friends who loved him.
A Graveside Service will be held at the Ninette Cemetery on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 11:00 am with Brant Bessant officiating. Following the interment, a reception will be held in the Ninette Community Hall. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Memorial donations can be made in Jason’s memory to the Ninette Cemetery, c/o Darold MacKenzie, Ninette, MB, R0K 1R0.
We, Jason’s family appreciate everyone’s phone calls, messages, visits and acts of kindness shown to us over this difficult time as we learn to navigate this world without our husband, dad, son, brother and uncle. Jason was one of a kind, he loved life and lived it to the fullest.
