Lois Foord-Kelcey Obituary
Surrounded by her family, Lois Patricia "Pat" Foord-Kelcey (nee Caslick), formerly of Glenboro MB, passed away at the Valleyview Care Centre, Brandon MB, on Tuesday January 1, 2019 at the age of 86 years.
Pat leaves to mourn her four children, Nancy (Edmund) Goetz of Oxford Mills ON, Bill (Nadine) Foord-Kelcey of Brandon, Shelley Foord-Kelcey (Michael Ludlow) of London Kentucky, John (Renae) Foord-Kelcey of Glenboro; eight grandchildren, Nicole, Joshua, Sasha, Jovi, Skye, Gianna, Stephen & Nia as well as numerous extended relatives.
Pat was born in Shoal Lake but moved to Glenboro as a young child. She grew up on the Caslick family farm west of Glenboro. She went to Normal School and then taught school in Glenboro for a short period. She married Stephen Foord-Kelcey on July 9, 1955. She was a full time homemaker when her children were small. She worked with her husband at their store, Foord-Kelcey's Mens Shop.
When her children were grown up , she started work at the Wawanesa Mutual in the accounting department where she stayed for 15 years. Pat and Steve were well known for their beautiful plants and award winning yard. She continued to work in the yard for as long as she could. Besides gardening , her other passion was collecting antiques and refinishing furniture . After retirement , she enjoyed spending the winter months at her daughter Shelley's home in Palm Beach County , Florida.
Pat was predeceased by her husband Steve Foord-Kelcey in 1999, parents Lyle & Mae Caslick, sister Iris Bernice (Bee) Wagner & by brother Alvin Caslick.
Funeral service was held on Monday January 7, 2019 in the Glenboro United Church with Sandra Rex officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in the Glenboro Cemetery.
