Surrounded by love, Madeleine Maria Cabernel (Stevens) passed away peacefully on Wednesday June 7, 2023 at the age of 95, at the Tiger Hills Manor, Treherne, MB.

Madeleine was born on August 28, 1927 at St. Alphonse, MB.  She was predeceased by her loving husband Maurice in 1994.

Madeleine leaves to mourn her passing her four children Wayne Cabernel (Lorraine Martens) of Neepawa, MB, Ken Cabernel (Leonie Picton) of Bruxelles, MB, Betty Picton (Ray Chappellaz) of St. Claude, MB, Penny Cabernel (Henry Van De Velde) of Steinbach, MB; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, Cory (Tricia) Cabernel, son Derek; Kelly Cabernel (Rhonda Lussier), children Martial & Owen; Bryson Cabernel; Curtis (Courtney) Cabernel, daughter Lexi; Ashley Cabernel (Jay Greenfeld), children Kaleena, Hymie, Herschell and Yarhi; James Picton (Angie), children Hailyn & Bayden; Michel (Charmaine) Picton, children William & Hayleigh; Nicholas Picton (Kayla Parent), son Matthew; Jules Van De Velde (Rebecca); Karl (Ashley) Van De Velde, children Everett, Fehrrah, Henry, Raylah; Michael Van De Velde (Dianna Derksen) & children Lola & Astro. 

She is also survived by her two sisters, Marguerite Lecoq, Cecile Geirnaert, brother George (Diane) Stevens as well as sisters-in-law Madeline Cabernel & Bertha Cabernel as well as numerous nieces, nephews & cousins.

Madeleine was predeceased by her husband Maurice, parents Arthur & Clementine Stevens, in-laws Nestor Cabernel (Sidonie Delichte), sister Evelyn Timmerman, brothers-in-law Raymond Lecoq, Andre Timmerman, Lucien Geirnaert and by great- granddaughter Bailee.

A Private Family Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at St. John Berchmans Catholic Church, Holland, MB with Father Joseph Tran as Celebrant.  Interment will take place in the St. John Berchmans Parish Cemetery.
