Passed away unexpectedly at the Baldur Personal Care Home on Thursday January 18, 2024 at the age of 53 years, Marlo Melissa Fehr (nee Jamieson), of Glenboro, MB.
Marlo was born on February 9th, 1970 in Glenboro to Bill and Elvina Jamieson, the youngest of 4 children. She received her schooling at Glenboro and attended Brandon University for 1 year in 1989 before gaining employment with Central Park Lodge as an activity director, where she worked for 2 years.
In 1990 she met Dan Fehr of Brandon and they were married on June 4, 1994. In 1997 they were blessed with the birth of their son Lachlan. In 1998 Marlo received the terrible news that she was diagnosed with MS. They resided in Brandon until 1999, when they decided to purchase the furniture store in Glenboro and move back to be closer to her family and raise their young son.
While busy running a business and raising their son, in 2001 they were once again blessed with the birth of their daughter Kjya. While raising a family and battling symptoms of MS, Marlo continued to be a fighter, never complaining and always upbeat. She was always up for a good time. Nothing would stop her from going out to see her family, enjoying a nice cold beer with Moray and Arlie, sitting around the campfire or swimming with the kids in the backyard pool.
She loved to paint and make crafts, something she inherited from her mother Elvina. Marlo had a love for music as she always had her songs playing at home with Dan and the kids. Marlo always enjoyed being outside on the deck with a book in hand while the kids played in the yard. Through the early 2000’s, Marlo ran a little daycare out of the home for a couple of years, which many appreciated including her kids as this helped start a lot of friendships.
As her MS symptoms progressed, Marlo & Dan made the trip to Costa Rica for her to receive the Liberation Treatment hoping to alleviate the progression of the disease. Unfortunately, the relief was temporary and the MS progressed.
Marlo was able to stay at home with the care of Dan, her children and the help of Home Care workers until early 2021 after which she resided at the Baldur Personal Care Home until her passing.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Baldur PCH for the wonderful care Marlo received while she was a resident there. They were more than staff to Marlo as many of them became friends as well. We can’t thank you enough.
Marlo was loved by the community and more. She had a bright smile that would light up a room and a sense of humor that could make anyone laugh.
Marlo leaves to mourn her husband of 29 years Dan, son Lachlan (Amanda) of Glenboro, daughter Kjya Fehr (Rowdy Harger) of Killarney, MB, siblings Larry (Christina) Jamieson of Winnipeg, MB, Araina (Perry) Dowd of Winnipeg, MB, Moray (Arlie) Jamieson of Glenboro, MB as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.
Marlo was predeceased by her parents Bill (1999) & Elvina (2018) Jamieson.
A Celebration of Marlo’s life was be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at 2:00 pm in the Willmor Chapel, Glenboro, with Sharon Hamilton officiating, followed by a reception in the C.E. Building.
A family graveside service was held the following day at the Glenboro Cemetery.
Friends that so desire memorial donations can be made in Marlo’s memory to the Glenboro & Area Foundation, Box 147, Glenboro, MB, R0K 0X0.
