Vera Airey Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Vera Rae Airey, who left us peacefully on Friday, February 28, 2025, at the age of 64.

Born on May 16, 1960, in Hamiota, Manitoba, Vera lived a life that was a testament to warmth, kindness, and an unwavering love for those around her.

Vera was the cherished daughter of Lorna Fenning and Raymond Airey, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her beloved oldest sister, Lana and brother-in-law Wally Rogers.  Throughout her life, Vera remained a beacon of joy and affection, touching the hearts of everyone lucky enough to know her.

Vera is survived by her loving sister Koryna and brother-in-law Kevin Wallace, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The bond she shared with her family was deep and unwavering, and she took immense pride in the myriad of relationships that filled her life with love and laughter.

Vera excitedly attended school in Brandon and later went to COR Enterprises, were she made numerous friends until her retirement.

Known for her carefree spirit, Vera was always seen with a smile that could light up any room. Her warmth was infectious, and she had an extraordinary ability to make everyone feel loved and valued. She had a zest for life that was exemplified through her many hobbies and interests: whether it was indulging in her favorite games at bingo, enjoying crafts, playing cards, or simply relishing the joy of shopping and visiting McDonald's, Vera embraced each moment with enthusiasm. She loved her trip to Disneyland. Her love for animals was also a defining trait; she found joy in the companionship they offered.

In her later years, Vera spent time at Westman Nursing Home, where she received exceptional care. Her family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff for their love, support, and kindness during her time there. They not only provided her with compassionate care but also enriched her life with friendship.

While Vera Rae Airey may no longer walk among us, her spirit will forever remain in our hearts. She taught us the importance of kindness, the joy of laughter, and the value of family. We will carry her legacy forward, honoring her memory through the love and warmth she so freely gave.

A private funeral service and internment at Greenwood Cemetery will be held at later date to celebrate her remarkable life. We invite those who knew and loved Vera to remember the beautiful moments shared and the joy she brought into our lives. Memorial donations can be made in Vera’s memory to a charity of choice.

Rest in peace, dear Vera. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
