William John 'Jack' Bolack Obituary

Passed away at the Rock Lake Health Centre in Crystal City, MB on Friday, October 10, 2025 at the age of 75 years, William John ‘Jack’ Bolack, of Glenora, MB.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the sudden passing of William John ‘Jack’ Bolack, a devoted and loving husband, father, grandpa, and great-grandpa, who left us far too soon. Born in Baldur, Manitoba on May 8, 1950, Jack was one of only eleven babies born in Mrs. Holmes’ Nursing Home while the new Baldur Hospital was still under construction—a unique and fitting beginning for someone who would spend his life building, growing, and giving back. Jack married the love of his life, Claudia ‘Sam’ Crayston in October 5, 1968, and together they raised three sons—Rob, Todd, and Rodney—on the family farm in Glenora. Over the next 57 years, they built a life rooted in hard work, family and community. Jack’s career took him from working for MTS and in the construction industry to time spent trucking before he settled into a life of farming.  He was deeply devoted to his community, serving first as a Councillor and then Reeve of the RM of Argyle for over 20 years, sitting on numerous boards, including many year with the Assiniboine Hills Conservation District, and volunteering with the Glenora Fire Department for over 25 years. Whether holding court at the Glenora Mall during the years they owned the store, snowmobiling with the Tri-Lake Trailbusters all over Manitoba with friends from near and far, visiting his favourite restaurants and drive-inns with Claudia, or travelling to rinks, gyms and recital halls to cheer on all of his grandkids, Jack filled every room he was in with his big laugh, quick wit, and even bigger heart. He was a man who saw the good in people, made everyone feel welcome, and lived life to the fullest.  Jack’s legacy will live on in the family, friends, and community he so dearly cherished.

Jack leaves to mourn his loving wife Claudia (nee Crayston) of Glenora, MB, sons Rob (Kerri) of Holland, MB, Todd and Rodney (Jennifer), both of Glenora MB, and Tara (Perry) of Crystal City, MB; a part of the family in every way that matters; grandchildren Josh, Dylan (Cadence), Reese, Tanner, Nick (Kylie), Ethan and Breanne, Bradley (Ashley), and Marissa (Adrien), great grandchildren Becker and Jaxson, brother Wayne Bolack, brothers-in-law Greg (Grace) Crayston and Garth Hurl, as well as nephews Tyler (Paige) Crayston, Scott (Shayla) Crayston, David Hurl and William Hurl.  He was predeceased by his parents William and Frances (nee Sexsmith) Bolack, sister Mary Hurl and sister-in-law Barb Bolack.

A private graveside service will be held at Neelin Cemetery.

Friends that so desire, memorial donations can be made in Jack’s memory to Rock Lake Health District Foundation, Box 130 Crystal City, MB, R0K 0N0 or to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, 1160 – 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
