Joyce kept active with gardening and taking care of her yard in the summer. She enjoyed 7 years as a snowbird in Mesa, Arizona. She loved shuffling, cards and happy hours with her friends and family.

She moved to the Lions Manor in Brandon in 2002 where she resided for 13 years.

In 2015 she moved to assisted living at Lakeview Gardens in Killarney, then in 2018 she moved to the Personal Care Home in Baldur.
